Improvised Rescue Climbing Course
Course Improvised Rescue Course Summary Improvised Rescue skills that every climber should know. Our aim is to help you become more self sufficient and confident of being able to cope with problems and situations should anything go wrong in a more remote area where help may not be close to hand. Course Content We will initially be spending some time on refreshing basic rope work systems, anchors, belaying etc before looking at more complicated Improvised Rescue scenarios. Experience / Fitness / Ability Improvised Rescue techniques will be beneficial for both new climbers and more experienced climbers who are aware that their rope work and general techniques - whilst perfectly adequate for normal situations - may need improving to enable them to cope should anything go wrong. Course Location The Improvised Rescue course is based here in North Wales in Snowdonia which provides numerous excellent locations both single and multi-pitch, ranging from sea cliffs to mountain crags in superb locations on a wide variety of rock types. The variety of locations also allows scope for working round inclement weather and the emphasis will be on what you would like to do. We will base this in Snowdonia which provides excellent multi pitch and sea cliff locations for this type of climbing. Actual locations will depend of weather and conditions but if you would particularly like to visit any particular crag we will try and accommodate. We also offer similar courses in other superb climbing areas in Britain – the Peak District or The Lake District – please ask if you are interested. |
Improvised Rescue Cost: £180 per day + £20 per additional person. Ratio: 1:4 maximum. Number of days: Usually a two day course priced per day as above. Included: All Guides fees. Not included: Transport to and from the course venue, lunches, insurance, equipment hire. |
